Position: Receptionist Volunteer


Venue:  Caring Hands Charity Office


When: One or more days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Hours between 9.00am and 3.00pm. We are flexible, but we do need someone who we can rely on to commit to agreed times and days.


We are looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing and a team player.  A person who is open-minded, non-judgemental and tolerant of different lifestyle and values.  The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in our beneficiaries and knowledge of the local area would be helpful.


Task/Role: Customer service and office duties


  • First point of contact in the office (phone and in person)
  • Dealing with enquiries/giving information over the phone and in person
  • Relay messages and information to relevant volunteers and staff
  • Using computer to enter Database enquiries, record appointments, register new service users etc. (training will be given)
  • General office duties e.g. photocopying, processing mail etc.
  • Offer tea/coffee to visitors

On-site training will be given.  The above list is not comprehensive and other duties may be required. We will provide training ‘on the job’.
